Locke Clifford to become a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States
Locke Clifford will join other alumni of the North Carolina School of Law in a group admission on Monday, December 7, 2009. Chief Justice John Roberts will admit the Carolina Law graduates to the nation's highest court.
The group will enjoy two days of festivities in Washington, D.C. including a welcome dinner for alumni in the nation's capital at the Chevy Chase Club on Sunday, December 6. The official swearing in ceremony will take place at the Supreme Court on Monday morning. The group will stay for oral arguments presented to the Court on Monday, December 7, 2009. Lunch will be at the Metropolitan Club.
On Monday evening, the group will be joined by other UNC Law School alumni in the DC area and together will enjoy a talk by Duke Law Professor Scott Silliman, Class of 1968, entitled "Crucial National Security Issues Facing the Obama Administration." This will be followed by a cocktail reception at the Metropolitan Club.
